They found that just 10 per cent of conversations start with a message that contains an emoji. Men were found to reply eight per cent more often. Spend a night working at the winter night shelter The Coventy Winter Night Shelter CWNS will open its doors at the beginning of December for the sixth year running this winter – but its life-saving work can only be done with the help of generous volunteers. The shelter runs in partnership with a number of churches in the city, offering a safe environment for people with nowhere else to go during the bitter winter nights.
Rough sleepers are given support, a hot meal, a safe warm bed for the night and breakfast the next day. There are a number of volunteering opportunities available at the night shelter, from serving and cooking food, to socialising with guests, preparing beds and even volunteering to wash the linen – but it’s the overnight shifts that organisers really need help with.
